YIKES! I remember when I was little I thought 30 sounded SO FREAKING OLD! I can’t believe I’ve finally hit the big 3-0! If I’m being honest, I was dreading turning 30 so much, not because the number scares me or the fact that my 20’s are behind me now…
The truth is, I always thought I would have more accomplished by the time I reached this milestone in life. And no I don’t mean married with kids.. I believe people are living longer these days and starting families later and there’s still a LOT I want to accomplish before then, even if it’s going to be in my 30’s now. That being said, I’m still very excited to see what this year has in store. There’s a lot on my plate right now (in a good way) and those it’s overwhelming at times, Chris is always great at reminding me to look at the silver lining and see the light at the end of the tunnel. I feel like this is going to be a good year and I’m excited to keep you all updated as things progress through my music, blogging and well my crazy life!
I quickly want to thank each and every one of you for your support, your kind comments and your overall interest in everything I’m doing. I believe a strong support system is SO important no matter what you’re trying to achieve in life and I wouldn’t have gotten this far in ANY of my endeavors without you so thank you!!
Again, since this is one of those “big” birthdays, I wanted to do something special. In addition to inviting all my girlfriends for a fun “GIRLS ONLY” weekend in Palm Springs to celebrate (view the post here), I wanted to do a fun “smash cake” inspired photoshoot like the ones I’d seen on Pinterest and of course, my sister LOVED the idea and helped me make Pinterest dreams come true!
For this photoshoot, I contacted Penny and Gigi, an adorable shop on Etsy that makes hand-made crowns for all occasions, and had them design a custom “30” crown to match my color scheme. It was of course even cuter in person and totally MADE the shoot! Check out their Etsy shop here. And for the little mini party hats, check out their sister ship, Little Blue Olive here.
