For my first time trying Farm Fresh To You, I decide to chose the Fruit Only box. I decided not to customize my produce because I wanted to be surprised and possibly try something new and I’m glad I did! I was so excited when my box arrived! I chose the regular size and received a beautiful selection of juicy, ripe, organic fruit!

My FRUIT ONLY Farm Box:

  • 1 lb Murcott Mandarin
  • 3 Pink Lady Apples
  • 3 Red Grapefruits
  • 3 Valencia Oranges
  • 1 Large Hass Avocado
  • 8 Kiwis
  • 3 Cameo Apples

I actually have never had kiwis before and have rarely had grapefruits, cameo apples or mandarins. I was very eager to try something new and decided to make some delicious smoothies using the fruits in my box and a few other things I already had at home.

I love making smoothies & juices in my Nutri Ninja Bullet. For these recipes, add 1/3 cup ice, all fruit and any additions, top with juice and blend.

APPLE & KIWI BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pink Lady Apple (peeled & sliced)
  • 1 Kiwi (peeled & sliced)
  • 1 mini banana
  • 2 Strawberries
  • 1/4 cup Pineapple-Coconut Juice

MANDARIN & ORANGE SUNRISE SMOOTHIE

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 Murcott Mandarin
  • 1/2 Valencia Orange
  • 1 mini banana
  • 1 Tbsp raw honey
  • 1/4 cup OJ

CITRUS BERRY SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Murcott Mandarin
  • 1/2 Valencia Orange
  • 1 mini banana
  • 2 Strawberries
  • 1/4 cup Pomegranate/Cranberry Juice

STRAWBERRY KIWI POST-WORKOUT SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

  • 2 strawberries
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 kiwi (peeled)
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
  • 1/4 cup pineapple-coconut juice

SPICY GRAPEFRUIT MARGARITA
So we’ve been good all week and enjoyed drinking our delicious healthy smoothies, but when Friday rolls around, I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely in the #5OclockSomewhere mood.

Okay so margaritas aren’t the healthiest thing you can drink but when they’re made with grapefruit & jalapeño, you can’t really go wrong. Here’s why.

Benefits of Grapefruit Juice

  • Packed with nutrients and vitamins, including potassium & lycopene
  • Chilled grapefruit juice boosts Vitamin C levels
  • Treats fatigue
  • Promotes healthy sleep
  • Boosts immune system
  • Helps increase appetite

Ingredients:

  • 1 jalapeño
  • 2 limes
  • 1 large grapefruit
  • Tequila & Margarita Mix (or pre-made margarita)
  • Agave, honey or drink sweetener
  • Salt
  • Chipotle Chili Powder

How To Make:

  1. Slice 1 lime & 1 jalapeño. Set aside for later.
  2. Mix about 1 tsp salt & 1 tsp chipotle chili powder in a flat dish and set aside.
  3. Add about 1/3 ice to your Nutri Ninja Bullet or blender.
  4. Next add about 2/3 pre-made margarita or half tequila & half mix.
  5.  Add 1 Tbsp agave or sweetener, juice from 1 lime and 1/2 of 1 jalapeño.
  6.  Slice 1 grapefruit, remove peel and add to blender.
  7. Blend until desired texture.
  8. Wet rim of margarita glass and dip in salt & chipotle chili powder mixture.
  9. Pour in contents from blender and add sliced jalapeño on top & sliced grapefruit and lime on side for garnish.
  10. Sip & enjoy! You earned it!
